A total of 16 members and 3 juniors fished Lake Eildon and the tributaries on the opening weekend. The streams fished were the Howqua, Delatite, Goulburn and Jamieson Rivers. The Goulburn and Jamieson were very dirty as was the lake except for the Delatite arm. The dirty water areas did not produce any fish. The weather conditions were good being mostly overcast with a few light showers.
The Delatite above Merrijig proved the premier location with worms being the best bait using the float fishing techniques. 21 brown trout and 8 rainbow trout were taken for a total 8.355kgs cleaned weight. The best fish was a brown trout the weighed 0.560kgs and the heaviest bag was 2.110kgs.
