Thirteen members and two juniors spent the weekend at the Howqua Lodge in beautiful weather conditions. Both the Howqua and Delatite rivers were fished along with the lake from Goughs Bay.
The fishing was very poor with only four fish being brought to scale. Trolling the lake produced four small trout with three being returned and the Delatite River produced the other three trout, float fishing.
Apparently the Howqua River suffered a massive fish kill during the summer heatwave leaving the stream devoid of trout. Unfortunately the carp appeared to have survived. Pity that!
Daniel Jennings was the most successful angler with three trout for a cleaned weight of 0.710kgs. A total of 4 fish were weighed for 0.885kgs.
