The annual trip to Port Arlington was held this weekend with 18 members and 2 visitors attending. The trip was a great success with a total of 191 fish caught for a total weight of 45.88kg. The catch consisted of 174 King George Whiting, 8 Flathead, 4 Garfish, 3 Pinkie Snapper, 1 Salmon and 1 Elephant Fish.

Most competitors fished both Saturday and Sunday launching from Point Richards and Clifton Springs boat ramps, targeting King George Whiting. Some members fished just before sunset on Friday and were successful with whiting and some calamari squid.

The competition was won by Danny Dib t with 36 whiting for 8.6kg followed by Joe Perri with a catch of 21 whiting and 2 Flathead weighing 5.7kg. Tony Mobricci was third with 8 whiting, 2 pinkies and 1 elephant fish for 5.0kg.

On Saturday night members enjoyed the traditional Ôpig on the spitÕ feast that was cooked to perfection by our master chef and host John Alexopoulos.
