Beautiful weather, excellent fishing conditions and hungry fish made for an excellent weekend's fishing for the 15 members who participated. The Howua and Delatite Rivers proved best with the lake below average. The quality of the fish was excellent with 16 fish taken from the rivers that exceeded the slot size of 35cm. Some fish where returned to the water as they were in excess of the bag limit.
A total of 42 trout were weighed including 36 brown trout for a total of 17.145kgs cleaned weight.
The winner was Daniel Jennings with 10 fish for 3.450 kgs. The best fish was a brown taken by Les Penrose that tipped the scales at 1.115kgs taken from the Delatite River.
The Club also participated in the Howqua Association Compettition and were successful weighing in 19 trout for 11.515kgs which represented an average per angler of 0.7677kgs. Dunlop Bayswater were the runner up with and average per angler of 0.4702kgs. The best fish for the competition was a brown trout weighing 1.400kgs taken from the lake. The social BBQ on the Saturday evening was fantasic with many thanks to the chefs that spent many hours in preparation.
