Thirteen members including two lady members enjoyed mixed weather and variable fishing on the Anzac long weekend. The trip was based at the Howqua Lodge with anglers ranging far and wide including Lake Eildon, Lake Nillacootie and the Broken, Goulburn and Howqua Rivers. The rivers were quiet with the majority of fish taken from Lake Eildon trawling with Tassie devils. A total of 21 fish were brought to scale including 10 brown trout, 3 rainbow trout, 7 yellowbelly and a redfin.
The best fish of the competition was taken by Len Brown with a magnificent yellowbelly that weighed 2.070kgs cleaned weight.
Tony Dorner won the competition with 6 fish for 3.410kgs with the runner up being Len Brown with 2 fish weighing 2.485kgs. Peter Patterson as third and also took out the special trophy for the biggest carp that weighed 2.040kgs.
