Eight members from Preston joined many other clubs to fish the first and hopefully annual Essendon Angling Club Masters competition. The weather was fine, calm and warm. Size fish were very few and far between and made more difficult by many little bait stealing fish. The best fish were taken on lures fished from boats.
The Essendon Club were the most successful winning the inaugural trophy with a nice bag of bream. Pinkie snapper were taken also up to 600 gms by many anglers although many of the 63 anglers anglers failed to take a size fish
Preston Northcote only weighed one bream for 260 gms. The successful angler being Les Chadwick.
A very nice barbecue with the presentations was enjoyed by all. Special thanks must go to Martin Corkhill, the Essendon Club President, for his efforts in organising the event.
