Fishing Reports

Lake Dartmouth, 1st-3rd November 2014

1st - 3rd November 2014
by Ken Ely

Members and friends enjoyed a very productive weekend at Dartmouth bringing 71 brown trout to scale for a cleaned weight of 50.020kg. The best fish was a brown caught by Peter Patterson of 1.240kgs.

The weather was terrible on the Saturday with heavy rain and hail however that was the worst for the weekend and conditions got better. Sunday was the best fishing day for all forms of angling. Trolling was most productive with fenders, worms and mudeye. The bait fishers did well also.

Wayne Harris was very successful with 14 brown for a total of 11.03 kgs followed by Tony Dorner and Bernie Harris. Gordon (Flash) MC Donald did well on his first trip to the lake, taking 8 fish for 5.27 kg. Many thanks to Bernie Harris for taking the time to advise him on trolling techniques and the good oil on how to have success.

An excellent trip was enjoyed by all.
